This is simply endearing! I love the little boy, and all the clever details you added to give us hints to how he's feeling as he embarks on his journey. He's got his sword for protection, and his teddy bear for comfort, but his childish mind is most revealed by the ball of string he has tied to the post so that he can be sure to find his way home. I wonder if he plans to enter the story in the book where someone has marked the pages? A wonderful, wonderful painting!
